The Xterra Arrives

I got a call from DAS regarding the Xterra today during NEO. Apparently it is already here and is ready to be dropped off to me tomorrow. The Pontiac G6* rental car that I have been driving is fun, powerful and fast, but I definitely prefer to drive my own vehicle.

New Employee Orientation lasted all day today. Normally it is spread out over two days and is fairly in depth. My group received the accelerated and condensed version.

A brief controversy erupted over whether our start date was today or yesterday. The final official decision is that we did indeed start yesterday for payroll, insurance and other purposes.

There is a ton of documentation, internal websites and forms that I need to read, review and register.

Lots of exciting, new and confusing things to do.

Snow Day

New Employee Orientation was cancelled due to inclement weather. I was there bright and early at 8AM, but apparently the snow deterred others.

On the way in, I noticed that several of those double buses had jack-knifed on the highway, blocking traffic in the other direction.

So, now I'm back at the apartment blogging and having some breakfast instead of at work.

I guess a dry run was a good thing, given that I haven't 'worked' in almost two months.
