NEW New Apartment

After checking out of corporate housing this morning, I went in to work for just a few hours to read email and take care of anything urgent. Around noon I left for the new apartment complex. Once there, management informed me that our expected apartment had been flooded when the water heater in the apartment upstairs failed and dumped its contents. Luckily, they had an identical apartment ready as well. I quickly scrambled to call the moving company and Comcast to rearrange their appointments.

Comcast nearly ruined my day a bit more. The operator there told me that because of the address change she would have to delete the old work order and enter a new one, despite the fact that it was in the same complex about 300 yards away. That of course meant that I might be waiting to get internet service on some other day. She managed to get the appointment for today despite everything. I thanked her and asked her nicely to pass on a suggestion to management that their scheduling system be updated and revamped to eliminate such stupidity in the future. We'll see.

After all the boxes were in, the internet installed and everyone had left, I went to Acapulco Fresh to get some Mexican food. And that is another story...
